It’s Fall Ya’ll… Tea Time in the Fall

Overflowing Hope “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. “ Romans 15:13 The smell of pumpkin follows me out of the coffee shop as I leave with my cozy cup of chai in hand. I step out into the crisp air and hear the sound of crunching leaves under my feet. It’s Fall ya’ll which is one of my favorite seasons. But, as I look around and see the leaves falling and the wind picks up I am reminded that another season is upon us and winter will soon be here. New seasons bring change and uncertainty, which can feel unsettling. The good news is we don’t have to live with uncertainty because we have a God who is constant and offers us the gift of grace to walk through any season. My sweet girl was heavy in my arms as she slept and her tears were still wet on her cheek. I slumped onto the coach and thought about what this year would bring and how many milestones her daddy would be missing. As a military wife, I was used to time apart, but this felt much harder since it was the first deployment as a mama. Comforting my sweet girl and trying to help her navigate this new journey without her Daddy home, made my heart ache. I felt so alone in our new home and wondered how we were going to get through this deployment. The phone interrupted my thoughts. It was my dear friend Dawn on the other line. She was not a military wife, but a friend from church. She called to check on me and, more importantly, to pray for me. Her call was such [...]
